When It Rains, It Pours (In All The Best Ways)
When timing has both a sense of humor and perfect aim.

April came and went with the subtlety of a Broadway diva – all dramatic entrances and scene changes that left me breathless. Between school plays, snow-covered Easter hunts, and cross-country hops, I feel like April is lying about only being 30 days long.

The kids returned to the spotlight again this month! Elizabeth channeled her inner shaman as Rafiki in The Lion King (photos of which will absolutely resurface at her wedding someday). Meanwhile, Zach had his first all-school play and performed a scene all about France. Kids + French sailor shirts = the universal formula for cute.
Easter was extra Colorado-y this year! If you've never watched kids hunt for eggs in snow while wearing pajamas, you're missing a particular brand of iconic childhood mountain memory. Growing up on the East Coast never prepared me for the sight of colorful plastic eggs nestled in snowdrifts (by Grandma while the kids slept), so watching my kids treat it as perfectly normal was both hilarious and strangely heartwarming.
NEWS FOR KIDS: KIDNUZ has become our favorite podcast - check out this episode that Mimi (my mom) sponsored for the kids! (Frankly, world events do go down smoother with cereal and kid commentary.)

We've been racing to relaunch both our small business and consumer platforms, and it's been a master class in "progress over perfection" for this recovering perfectionist. Every time I think I have something figured out, reality kicks me square in the face – a humbling reminder that control exists only in PowerPoint presentations and nowhere else. The experience has been a crash course in grit, resilience, and persistence. I hope my next crash course is in baked goods, sleep-ins, and all-expenses paid vacations.

This last month really went full spring metaphor with a classic case of "when it rains, it pours" – which sometimes means drowning and sometimes means planting seeds, right? I've been city-hopping like the Easter bunny: kicking off the first 10 days in New York where I hosted an event in Hudson, a week in Denver (first time since Christmas!), and a couple days home in Aspen. Reconnecting with my Denver network felt like coming up for air – I hosted a fun cocktail party with a flower bar so everyone could take home a small arrangement….because sometimes the best response to overwhelm is to create something beautiful and share it.
And in terms of growing something new, Virginia is in love! (Yes, I am talking about myself in the third person because that makes it feel like someone else is hard-launching their relationship on the internet!) The universe sure has a way with timing – is there any season better for falling in love than spring?
WHAT'S KEEPING ME GROUNDED: Breathwork sessions remind me that I'm actually just a mammal with email access, not an optimization machine.
