The Power of Moments

Hi,

,

This month has been a rollercoaster – lots of bright moments in my little corner of Colorado, yet so much of what’s happening in the world feels heavy. Read on for how I’m taking each day at a time and focusing on the future.

This month, I took the kids on a quick trip to the Great Sand Dunes, and it was amazing! It was 7 hours in the car and a return trip caked in sand, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Getting into nature has always been incredibly grounding for me, so it soothed my soul in this chaotic time to go adventuring with the kids in this absolute jewel of the outdoors. And, of course, they’re counting the hours until trick-or-treating tonight. Zach is going as a ninja this year (a ninja who just got braces!), and Elizabeth will be a witch. Their mother will be going as, well, a mother who worries about their future cavities...(and maybe twinning with E a little bit, too). :)

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. The reason I wake up so early, the reason I schedule every minute of the work day, the reason I push myself so hard…can all be distilled down to one simple thing: the immeasurable power of a moment. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend the book The Power of Moments. It explores how individual little moments shape us and, in turn, how we can design moments that build extraordinary lives. That’s everything I’m trying to do in my business, yes, but at the very root of it is doing that for my kids. And so I am navigating this complicated world with my littles, one thoughtful moment at a time, and doing everything I can to create connection, compassion, and joy with my business.
