The Juggling Act!

Hi, ,

May was a month for perfecting my juggling act! Between family commitments, travel, industry events, and the wind sprint of running a company, it felt like I was blindfolded, spinning plates on a unicycle. But would I trade any of it? Never.

Things on the home front were a masterclass in creative project management. Both Zach and Elizabeth performed in plays this month – Zach in Hamlet and Elizabeth in The Tempest. You can imagine what it’s like to share a roof with children who think they’re living in a Shakespearean drama. Then Zach presented his big changemakers study on Henry Ford, and Elizabeth presented her animal research project on the red panda. Let’s just say car and dinner convos were robust this past month!

WHAT THE KIDS ARE READING: They love the Who HQ Now books and reading all about notable figures of the past!

Technically at the end of April (April 30th), I attended Left Lane’s Fast Growth Summit in NYC. What a high-octane way to head into May.And another highlight has been seeing the incredible talent that is attracted to our brand. We announced that we're on the hunt for a rockstar Chief of Staff, a results-oriented Account Executive, and new development partners, and the response has been enormous (like, overwhelmingly so, with INSANELY talented prospects). This is more "Avengers assemble!" than a resume shuffle, folks. We're building something special, and we are looking for the best of the best to join the adventure. It's a new era of hosting!

WHAT STUCK WITH ME AFTER THE SUMMIT: I’ve been sharing some of my key takeaways over on LinkedIn, which you can check out here!

It isn’t often (or ever) that I get to be on the other side of a wedding (aka, not whisper-managing the caterers / florists / DJ through an earpiece while the bride and groom say their “I dos”). But I got to put on some high heels and dance my heart out in all my wedding guest glory at my dear friend Stefanie's wedding in Montecito. It was an unforgettable time with girlfriends I don't get to see nearly often enough. (You can sneak a few peeks at their wedding magic - and the rest of my May - over on my personal Instagram!)In this phase of life, I don’t get to enjoy quite as many moments like this as I want to, but that’s because I’m 150% committed to making incredible events accessible to absolutely everyone with Partytrick. Stefanie’s wedding just filled my gas tank right back up to keep hustling and make the dream a reality. MY NEXT PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT READ: Yes, we are a family of bookworms! Someone recently recommended this book to me, and I had it in my shopping cart faster than you could say "Chapter One."
