Going Slow to Go Fast

Hi, ,
This month is about catapulting and springboarding and all the forward motion! (I don’t know why I’m making it sound like I’m going to be shot out of a cannon, but let’s go with the metaphor – it sounds exciting). I’m enjoying the adventure!

The kids and I had a phenomenal time over the holidays. I ate my weight in monkey bread and Christmas tree-shaped pizza, and we built five gingerbread houses (I should probably form an HOA). The snowfall in Colorado has been intense (we’re talking nearly 6 feet in some parts), so we’ve been spending more time inside. The kids are in their Martha Stewart era and have recently been cooking and making candles and pottery. If you come to our house, I expect you to compliment their projects excessively.
WHAT WE'RE CRAFTING: We dug into this classic from the Queen of Crafting herself - I always find something in these pages to get the creative minds of my kids fired up.

I’m excited to share that I was named one of Denver Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” this month! The universe's timing couldn't be better, as the hard launch of Partytrick’s B2B offering is in full swing, and we’re actively fundraising. If you would like to learn more about our B2B strategy and what that looks like, let me know – I love sharing! And if you're interested in hearing about investment opportunities, please get in touch! We have several ways – from intro to high level – for you to get involved. We also created placeholder websites for both Partytrick.biz (for business events made easy) and Powered by Partytrick (for white-labeled, branded experiences) in case you'd like to check them out for a taster of exciting things to come!
WHAT I'M READING: I recently picked up this book, which might seem like an interesting choice as a "business" read, but so much of what entrepreneurs do is storytelling. This book should be required reading!

This month, for me, is about going slow to go fast. Taking the time to spot where I need to reduce friction so that I can gain speed on the right things. I’ve started running more, which is something that has always served my body and my mental clarity well, and I’ve started eating paleo, too. (Though I promise not to be one of *those* people who talk about it incessantly.) There’s also been more overlap between my personal life and Partyrick than usual this month! I find December can be a bit of a whirlwind of obligations, leaving too little time for connecting with real friends. So we developed some Partytrick themes and partnerships that support those big New Year’s resolutions to live healthier and be more connected. As ever, you can find them on our platform here. And in early January, I stopped by Channel 9 to share some thoughts about connecting with friends in new ways. Then I took my own advice and invited girlfriends over for an après ski-themed party (check out my behind-the-scenes here) and a second gathering to do some vision-boarding (take a look at our collab with Denv.her for more!). Such a perfect way to kick off the new year with intention (and style!).WHAT I'M LISTENING TO: If you're looking for some get-up-and-go vibes to power your goals, check out my old school running mix on Spotify. It's total cheese but also GREAT.
