Tacos, Tech, and Taking It Slow

July 2023 has been one for the record books over here. Surprise trips, big work milestones, and new revelations. I hope you’re having a personal best kind of summer, too!

Zach, Elizabeth, and I took a very last-minute trip to Mexico this month, and it was amazing. Anyone who has kids knows that a vacation with children isn’t really a vacation, but not having to make beds or cook felt almost criminally luxurious. We soaked up the sun (under thick layers of sunscreen), splashed in the pool, swam in the ocean, and ate lots and lots of tacos.I love that my kids have inherited the travel bug from me and that I get to see both old and new places through their eyes. They have been talking non-stop about our next trip, which is luckily just around the corner - we take off this weekend for our great big European adventure!

Insider Intel: we're updating Partytrick's business model and are in the midst of a migration to our own database, which means we’re truly a SOFTWARE company now. Wow! But the biggest news is that we launched a Partytrick app so you can carry your favorite party planner (us!) in your pocket! We’ll be announcing it to the public soon with all the fanfare you’d expect from us, but for now it has soft-launched in your favorite app stores. I’d love for you to take it for a spin and let me know what you think! Better yet, share it with your party people, and leave us a glowing 5-star review! :)

I have really been embracing this summer “off” of wedding planning / producing events and giving my Type A, task-oriented internal GPS a break! I don’t feel the FOMO I expected, personally or professionally. As a diehard planner, it has been delightful to discover the rewards of spontaneity for my kids and myself. Between being laser-focused on just one business and intentionally less scheduled, I have felt a sense of freedom that is entirely new to me, and I look forward to carrying this over into fall, as well!
