March Madness - From Horses on Ice to Hot Sand
Mom mode, founder hustle, and the Mexican sun!

I'm writing this with sand between my toes, sunscreen on my nose, and the extreme awareness that balancing motherhood and founder-life is not always possible. March, you were a wild one.

This month brought the joy of watching my little ones shine. Elizabeth had a big end-of-season ice-skating show – she was a horse in an epic silver jumpsuit – while Zach embraced his inner Egyptian for a school presentation. (Thank goodness for amazing teachers who captured Zach “in character” while I was juggling bi-city life on the East Coast!). Seeing the kiddos develop their unique interests and talents was the highlight of an already bright month. Hard to believe the ski season is over, too – the kids had their last competitions last week, and then we packed our bags for warmer climates!
We have been really looking forward to a full week of family time and making pool-drenched memories. Spring break as a mom might hit differently than it did in college, but I am soaking up this time with my kiddos!
FAMILY MUST-HAVE: The Fujifilm Instax Mini camera. Nothing beats having physical photos of the kids' performances right away - they're treasuring these mini-memories in their rooms!

It has been a truly exhilarating month for Partytrick – we rolled out three activations in March to kick off the “testing” of our event blueprints "in the wild." We practice what we preach and are spreading the word by connecting with our community! Our growth plans have leapt off the spreadsheets and right into the actual world. These activations aren't just fun—they're the foundation for our ambitious goal of reaching 100,000 users by mid-July. Soon we’ll be rolling out an updated consumer offering and a product for small businesses, too! We have just four months to hit this milestone, and I'll be rallying everyone in my network to help make it happen! So – ya with me?!
I feel so lucky that this is my job. Honestly, the only job better than mine is whoever taste-tests chocolate. That person probably has it pretty sweet. So…after an exit here, I know what I’m off to next… ;)
FOUNDER READING RECCO: Build by Tony Fadell has been my nightstand companion this month. His chapter on launching products has directly influenced our activation strategy - especially his advice on creating memorable first experiences for users. If you're scaling anything right now, it's worth the read.

This past week, I embraced 100% reactive mode – no proactive work whatsoever. It's a concept I've shared about before – this idea of striking the balance between proactive drive and reactive presence. This intentional pause comes after an intense period building up to our most recent launch. Mama needs a nap.
I'm also feeling the power of community big time! I am so incredibly grateful to the longtime friends who helped bring things back together this month when we hit some unexpected travel bumps. Special shoutout to Cynthia & Stefanie who helped me land on my feet. Their support reminded me that while we're often celebrated for our strength, true resilience comes from knowing when to lean on others.
SELF-CARE HACK: The Headspace app's 3-minute SOS meditations have protected my sanity this month. Perfect for those moments between calls when you need an instant reset.
